Micrel has introduced two linear regulators designed for noise-sensitive applications such as industrial, networking, telecomms infrastructure equipment and bias power supplies. According to the company, both the regulators have a quiescent current of 6µA and a PSRR of more than 90dB. The regulators are claimed to withstand transient input voltages of up to 120V and generate a clean voltage rail to maximise system performance. The MIC5281 and MIC5282 regulators supply an output current of up to 25 and 50mA, respectively, offer ±3% initial accuracy, and a high power supply rejection ratio of up to 90dB, claims the company. Both the regulators are available in fixed output voltage options of 3.3 to 5V and adjustable output voltage options of 1.27 to 5.5V. They operate from -40 to +125ºC and are available in lead-free, RoHS-compliant, 8pin ePad MSOP and 8pin MSOP packaging options.
