Vishay Intertechnology has announced a submersible cermet panel potentiometer that is IP68-sealed against deep-sea water. Featuring a stainless steel shaft and bushing, the P13SM is suitable for applications in which electrical parameters need to be set with an immersed potentiometer in deep-sea saltwater conditions up to 30m says the company. The potentiometer achieves corrosion resistance up to 960h in a salt spray test.
Featuring a heavy-duty construction, the company's Sfernice potentiometer is optimised for use as a voltage divider operator interface for underwater equipment, submarine scooters, and lighthouses. The potentiometer is claimed to reduce costs and build sealed protection against sea salt water.
The potentiometer offers 1.5W at 70°C and tight TCR (temperature coefficient of resistance) of ±75ppm/°C.
The potentiometer is available in 3.17 and 6mm shaft diameters and in multiple shaft lengths. It offers a temperature range of -55 to +125°C.
