To integrate electronic components or PCBs equipped with connectors, displays or switches, the GD series of cases from Fischer Elektronik are U-shaped case sections, which are open on one side. The cases have integral guiding grooves to accommodate electronic components or PCBs and a slide-in cover sheet, the thickness of which can be varied. Mechanical processing of the cover sheet allows components, such as LCDs and connectors to be easily fitted and then slid into position in the U-section. The cover sheet is fastened to the front and rear of the case. There are six lengths available: 100, 120, 160, 200, 220 and 234mm and two surface finishes. The geometry of the aluminium section enables the installation of membrane keyboards or front foils. Mechanical processing, surface treatment and imprinting can customise the cases.
