The BVM Group has announced the modular Afolux Genii 15.6inch panel PCs, available with either the AMD ASB1 or the Intel Atom N270 processor. The PCs are designed for use in self-service or interactive applications in public and commercial environments. Both versions have gigabit Ethernet, 801.11 b/g/n wireless and Bluetooth connectivity as standard. They also have built-in webcam and microphone and feature a choice of either single touch resistive or multi-touch capacitive touchscreens. A built-in HD decoder and an MPEG2/H.264/AVC and HDMI second display interface provide high quality AV, claims the company, and the ability to drive a slave screen. An optional, integrated RFID reader enables the PC to be used as an interactive asset tracking and identification terminal. Fanless operation provides improved reliability and quiet operation. Both versions have USB, RS232 and RS232, -422, -485 ports as standard. Additional capability is provided through modular expansion cards that interface into one of three expansion slots in the unit. Pluggable boards provide PCI Express, USB3.0, four-channel video capture, TV tuner, a parallel port and additional RS232 and RS232,-422,-485 serial ports as required.
