Ruggedised versions of Excelsys Technologies' Xgen power supply range is now available. They are suitable for COTS or military applications and extreme industrial installations. The supplies protect against harsh environments with conformal coating. They have also been HALT tested for resistance to shock and vibration and characterised over its extended operating temperature range. The supplies are available with temperature ratings from -20 to +70ºC. Low operating noise versions and medically approved versions are also available. The company claims that the power density of 17W/inch³ and efficiency of 90% in a 1U package, leads its class. Output power is 200 to 1450W. A range of powerMods output modules allow users to create the exact power supply required with no configuration costs and on short lead-times. Standard voltages available include 2.5, 5, 12, 24, 48, and 24/24V. All modules are isolated, polarity is user selectable and modules may be configured in series or parallel for higher output voltages or current. The universal input range is 85 to 264V AC. Over-voltage protection is included. Safety approvals include UL60950 and EN60950. Typical applications include vehicle and ship-based communication, instrumentation and IT systems, industrial control systems and test and measurement equipment.
