Vishay Intertechnology has launched the IHLP (isolated high level pulse) inductor in the 3232 case size with a 3mm profile.
With a frequency range up to 5MHz, the inductor serves as a space- and power-saving solution for VRM (voltage regulator module) and DC/DC converter applications in end products including next-generation mobile devices, notebooks, desktop computers, servers, graphics cards, portable gaming systems, personal navigation systems, personal multimedia devices, and automotive systems. The inductor is also claimed to be suitable for high-current power supplies and PoL converters, distributed power systems, and FPGAs.
The inductor offers an inductance range from 0.22 to 10µH, a saturation current range from 8.2 up to 43A, a heat rating current range from 4.7 to 32A, and maximum DC resistance from 1.61 to 71.20mΩ.
The inductor handles high transient current spikes without hard saturation, claims the company. The inductor is packaged in an RoHS-compliant, 100% lead-free shielded, composite construction that reduces buzz noise. The inductor operates from -55 to +125°C, with high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration.
