Provertha has introduced the robust axial (180°) 360° EMI/RFI (radio frequency interference) PROFIBUS (process field bus) bus connector with internal cable clamp for field assembly using freely definable cable lengths to expand its portfolio of I-Net connector. The bus connector is designed for applications with stacked interfaces where neither right angle nor angled cable exits can be used. The spring washer under the Allen screw cares for vibration-proof locking at the bus connector interface, whereas the Allen head enables locking at constricted installation sites, says the company. The full-metal housing is claimed to have a special shielding design which ensures 360° EMI/RFI shielding allows use in raw environmental conditions, such as in industrial automation, railway technology, and power stations.
According to the company, an important criteria for bus connector modules with D-sub interfaces are fail-safe connections as well as error-free data transfer. This is claimed to be secured by the specially designed EMI/RFI proof full-metal housing, the massive shielding clamp for a safe low-resistance shielding connection, and the vibration resistant cage clamp terminals for the bus connector single wire termination.
Colour-coded cage clamp terminals in the bus connector wire colours red and green care for a failure-free wire termination. Pre-assembled non-losable lock screws simplify the field assembly, says the company.
Bus termination with connector specified resistors is done by an externally operated lever switch. The bus connector is specified for the maximum PROFIBUS DP (decentralised peripherals) data rate of 12Mbit/s.
UNC 4 to 40 Allen screws lock the connector to the bus connector interface. The D-sub connectors comply with quality level 2 for 200 mating cycles.
