With a 0 to 140A measurement range, Wago's 789-621 current sensors are suitable for
monitoring PV systems. The sensors are suitable for conductors up to 35mm2/AWG 2. They are designed for continuous current measurement of individual lines during operation. The company says that they have 0.5% full-scale accuracy and can connect to the company's I/O-System, TO-Pass telecontrol modules and Perspecto HMI panels. The sensors can be used to monitor PV system which require precise monitoring so that the operator can immediately identify power loss without comparing output data. The sensors allow PV module failures (e.g. cracked cells or lightning strikes) to be detected faster and easier, claims the company, to maximise performance and efficiency for the PV system.
