Würth Elektronik has included a ring core double choke in its WE-DCT series. The coupled inductive choke with two identical windings has low core losses, low DC resistance and saturation currents of up to 120A. According to the company, the double choke operates between -40 and +125°C and is subjected to minimal ageing. The double choke is suitable for solar inverters, 1:1 flyback converter applications, and buck-boost, SEPIC (single-ended primary-inductance converter) or Cuk switching controllers and switching controllers with secondary non-stabilised output voltage. There are 14 types of double chokes available with inductances between 0.091 and 100µH. Additional choke solutions with inductances of up to 400µH are possible with series and parallel connections.
