Analog Devices has released single- and dual-channel 14bit ADCs suitable for communications, instrumentation and test and measurement applications and also battery-powered, hand-held instruments, scopes and portable medical devices. The AD9648 is a 14bit dual-channel ADC that consumes 102mW/channel at 125Msamples/s and features SFDR (spurious-free dynamic range) performance of -91dB, relative to the carrier, at 70MHz. It has IF sampling frequencies up to 200MHz and is pin-compatible with the company's 16-, 14-, 12- and 10bit ADCs. The dual-channel ADC has an SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) of 72.2dB, relative to full scale, and ENOB of 11.8 at fIN. It also features DNL (differential non-linearity) of ±0.5LSB (least significant bit) and INL (integral non-linearity) of ±1LSB and is available in a 9x9mm, 64-lead RoHS-compliant LFCSP (lead frame chip scale package). The AD9642 is a 14bit single-channel ADC having IF sampling frequencies up to 350MHz. It supports bandwidths up to 125MHz and features an SNR of 72.2dB, relative to full scale, and SFDR of 90dB, relative to the carrier, at base band, while consuming 360mW at 250Msamples/s. The single-channel ADC features an input noise of -152dB/Hz, relative to full scale, at 200MHz. The converter is available in a 5x5mm, 32-lead LFCSP. The converters operate between -40 to +85°C.
