Phihong has developed a 9W adapter with field interchangeable clips for use with tablets, peripherals, wireless and networking equipment. Designated the PSAC09R series, the charger features a single output of 5V DC with a micro USB connector and is compliant with the level V efficiency marking requirements. The adapter's constant current output also complies with USB's battery charger specification revision 1.0 making it suitable for charging lithium ion batteries in personal electronics.
Replacing the PSM08R mini-USB adapter, this charger is double-insulated, meets Class B EMI standards, and features short-circuit, over-voltage, and over-current protections. The adapter is equipped with a constant-current feature that is claimed to enable a quick charge on lithium ion batteries followed by a constant-voltage output to top off.
The adapter is suitable for frequent travelers and OEMs, and features field interchangeable AC clips. A clip that has an IEC320 C8 input is also available to convert the wall plug into a desktop-style adapter able to be powered by a two-wire line cord.
The adapter measures 71.7x45x29.79mm and weighs 120g. The 1.5m output cable is terminated with a standard micro-B USB connector.
