Tecate Group has announced the release of the MXCPB and MXCPT series of aluminum-polymer hybrid construction capacitors. The SMD (surface mount device) series combines the ESR (equivalent series resistance) advantages of polymer capacitors with the low leakage current characteristics of aluminum electrolytic capacitor technology. The capacitors operate from -55 to +135°C. The capacitors are available in voltage range of 6.3 to 63V DC, and capacitance range from 10 to 560µF.
The capacitors support good noise suppression and ripple absorption in consumer, industrial and automotive electronics such as PC servers, networking equipment, flat-panel TVs, power supplies and inverters. In automotive applications, parts are used to enhance the energy efficiency in engine-management and electronic fuel-injection systems, gearbox controllers, steering aids, and in motors for windshield wipers and fans, along with oil, or water pumps.
The MXCPB capacitor series is available in nine capacitance values ranging from 22 to 560µF and voltage options of 6.3, 10 and 16V DC. They are available in 8x10.5 and 10x10.5mm case sizes, with operating temperatures from -55 to +125°C and have a load life of 2,000h at 125°C.
The capacitors in the MXCPT series are available in 15 capacitance values ranging from 10 to 330µF and in voltages of 25, 35, 40, 50 and 63V DC. They also operate from -55 to +125°C. The capacitors are available in four case sizes ranging from 6.3x7.7 to 10x12.5mm. At 135°C, 6.3x7.7mm parts' load life is 1,000h. All other components in this series feature a 2,000h load life. Both series' capacitance tolerance is ±20% and are available in tape and reel, are lead-free and RoHS-compliant versions.
