C&K Components has developed the FP series, a pushbutton switch. The sealed construction utilises an o-ring between the actuator and bushing to prevent contamination. This sealing feature allows for automated soldering and cleaning, which saves time and money during the assembly process, claims the company. The RoHS-compliant switches are available in both vertical and right angle mount configurations, and offer an operating life to 50,000 cycles.
The switches measure 5.6x7mm, with a board height of 5mm for the right angle version and 4.5x7mm, with a board height of 5.6mm for the vertical version. The pushbutton switches are suitable for telecomms and datacomms applications. The switches feature gold over nickel-plated contacts and are available with or without a white, black or red cap.
The switches feature a contact resistance of 10mA at 2V DC, with an initial contact resistance of 80mΩ maximum. Dielectric withstanding voltage is 500V DC between terminals per 1min, while insulation resistance is 500mΩ minimum at 500V DC. Bounce time is less than or equal to10ms. Maximum operating force is 6.9N and mechanical travel is 1mm. Operating temperature ranges from -20 to +80°C. The switches are available in tray and bulk bag packaging.
