Toshiba Electronics Europe has introduced 30V power MOSFETs which combine high-speed switching, high current ratings and compact size, says the company. The TPC806x-H and TPC822x-H MOSFETs are suitable for digital home appliances, office equipment and other products that require synchronous rectification DC/DC conversion. Based on the company's seventh-generation, UMOS (u-shape metal-oxide-semiconductor) VII-H semiconductor process, the additions to the TPCx family of low withstand voltage power MOSFETs comprise nine MOSFETs in SOP-8 and the TSON (thin small out-line non-leaded) advance package formats. The latter package is claimed to bridge the gap between SOT-23 and SOP-8 package formats. A low internal gate resistance and a low Cgd/Cgs (gate capacitance ratio) help to prevent the possibility of self turn-on, claims the company. The MOSFETs have a maximum VDSS rating of 30V and a maximum VGSS rating of ±20V. The RDS(ON) values range from 20 to 6mΩ depending on the device chosen. The MOSFETs are available in SOP-8 and dual chip SOP-8 packages, respectively. TPCC806x-H parts in the TSON package are claimed to achieve a power dissipation of 1.9W, due to a metal base plate.
