Vishay Precision Group has announced that its VFR (Vishay foil resistors) division has released a series of high-precision Bulk Metal Z1-foil wraparound, surface-mount chip resistors with extended pads. The extended pad designs are optimised for applications at temperatures above 225°C, and they offer good heat dissipation for high working power to 1,200mW at 70°C and 330mW at 200°C. The resistors offer TCR of ±1ppm/°C from -55 to +125°C and ±2.5ppm/°C from -55 to +200°C. They are claimed to feature a load-life stability to ±0.05% at 200°C for 2000h at working power, and tight tolerances to ±0.02%. They can withstand ESD at 25kV without degradation and are available in six chip sizes from 0603 to 2512, and feature 10Ω to 125kΩ resistance range. They feature a rise time of 1ns, with no ringing and a thermal stabilisation time of less than 1s. Current noise is 0.01µVrms per volt of applied voltage, which is less than -40dB, and voltage coefficient is less than 0.1ppm/V. The RoHS-compliant resistors offer a non-inductive rate of less than 0.08μH. The adhesive in the resistor's construction holds the foil to a flat substrate. The resistor is suitable for power supplies, geothermal measuring equipment, turbine engine control, and environmental test chambers in military, industrial, automotive, and down-hole drilling systems.
