Two non-ferrous TVS arrays from Microsemi are 50W transient voltage suppressor arrays that were specifically designed for MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) machines, as they use non-ferrous metal in the packaging. The USBQNM504xx and USBQNM504xxC arrays guard against circuit damage caused by ESD, defined in IEC 61000-4-2; electrical fast transients to IEC 61000-4-4 and the effects of secondary lightning. They protect uni- and bi-directional lines, respectively. As well as MRI machines, they add another layer of protection against voltage spikes that can corrupt data in sensitive medical equipment. The TVS arrays are halogen-free and in a quad flat no-lead, 143pin metal lead frame. The RoHS-compliant enclosure is pin-compatible with SOT-143 packages. It has board level protection for sensitive circuitry including TTL, CMOS, DRAMs, SRAMs, HCMOS, HSIC microprocessors, and USB and I/O transceivers.
