TDK-EPC presents EPCOS power capacitors with higher rated voltages from 550VRMS AC up to 1000VRMS AC. The MKP AC HP B25360 series covers a capacitance range from 10 to 150µF. The high dielectric strength was made possible by a castor oil filling. The design also provides improved heat dissipation from the capacitor's interior to the aluminum can. In addition, hot spots are reduced and superior insulation properties are achieved, claims the company, extending the operating life to 100,000 hours (to IEC 61071). Couple with the high current handling, these features make the capacitors suitable for AC output filters in offshore wind turbines. The capacitors are designed for a temperature range from -40 to +70°C. The can diameter is 75 or 85mm and heights are between 115 and 270mm.
