The ANTARES ICE 1U from Eurotech uses Intel Core i7/i5 processors, providing features such as virtualisation, hyper-threading and remote system management. The front panel provides a graphic LCD display, two full speed USB ports and a rewritable DVD drive and optional removable hard drives.
Options also exist to run embedded operating systems from flash memory directly on the internal board allowing critical data, such as the operating system and applications, to be accessed without the need for hard drives, claims the company. High system availabilities are further supported via options for fanless operation and via remote management capabilities.
Standard PC peripherals are broken out via the rear panel, together with the power connector for the universal AC or optional DC power supply unit, and an expansion card bay offering two PCI Express slots. This expansion capability with SIM support, is suitable for wireless communication modules such as 3G modems or Wi-Fi cards.
The SBC is designed to meet MIL-STD-810F shock and vibration levels, making this industrial computer suitable for harsh environments.
