Swissbit has announced the 4Gbyte DDR2 SODIMM as an addition to its Industrial family of SDRAM memory modules. The module, with dimensions of 67.6x30mm, is built with 16, 256Mx8 DRAMs. It contains Winbond 2Gbyte DRAM components based on the buried wordline process. This low power technology with small internal parasitic capacitors and high data retention makes the module suitable for industrial, small form factor PCs, claims the company. The module is available in both commercial 0 to 85°C and industrial -40 to +95°C temperature grades at PC2-5300 speed grade. The module is compatible to the JEDEC DDR2 SODIMM specification and is supported by most of the recent DDR2 memory controllers like the mobile Intel 4 series express chipset family of GM45, GS45, and Q45.
