Avalue Technology has released an EPIC (explicitly parallel instruction computing) module, the EPI-QM67, powered by second-generation Intel Core i5-2510E or Core i7-2710QE processor and Intel QM67 Express chipset. The EPIC module is based on Intel's 32nm process technology and features a two-chip platform that integrates the Northbridge chip with the CPU. The EPIC module supports one 204pin, DDR3, small outline, dual in-line memory module of non-error correcting code, up to 8Gbyte SDRAM. The module also supports dual channel, 18 and 24bit LVDS, dual DVI, and dual display configurations. The I/O consists of two sets of SATA and COM, 10 sets of USB 2.0 and a 16bit general purpose I/O. One audio jack supports Realtek ALC888, 5.1-CH audio. The module features two Intel Gigabit LANs and two expansion slot of mini PCI Express card. A Built-in touch screen interface allows an interactive panel PC to be established. The module features two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces for fast connection. It also features touch screen interface and supports mSATA. Intel Active Management Technology 7.0 manages remote networking, to monitor and communicate between the server and end user. The module is suitable for medical instruments, PoS and kiosk machines, digital signage, surveillance devices, automation controllers and military systems.
