NXP Semiconductors has introduced the TFF101xHN integrated down converters for use in LNB (low noise block) 10.7 to 12.75GHz Ku (Kurtz-under) band satellite receiver systems. They are used at the front of a parabolic satellite dish antenna to receive the microwave signal, amplify and convert it to a low frequency band to send via cable to the indoor receiver. The Ku band is particularly used for editing and broadcasting satellite TV. The DVB-S compliant converters have current consumption with single phase current control of 52mA and a 25MHz crystal. They have a single supply domain of 5V with ±10% and flat gain over frequency is greater than 2dBpp (full band gain ripple). The down converters feature high P1dBo (1dB gain compression measurement) and linearity and phase noise of 1.5° RMS with 10kHz to 13MHz integration bandwidth.
