ZMDI has launched a configurable, true-digital, high-performance PWM controller for non-isolated DC/DC PoL supplies. The ZSPM1000 operates as synchronous step-down converter in a single-rail and single-phase configuration. In combination with the ZSPM9000 DrMOS (driver MOSFET), the company's compact MOSFET with integrated power-stage driver, the converter is suitable for area constraint and high-performance applications such as servers, storage units, processor and FPGA boards, says the company. The converter is claimed to provide good transient performance and steady-state behaviour, thanks to the company's Tru-Sample technology and State-Law technique, respectively. An internal linear regulator is claimed to enable the DrMOS to operate from a single supply. The digital PoL controller IC is available in a 24pin QFN package of 4x4mm. The DrMOS is available in a 40pin PQFN package of 6x6mm.
