Convection and fan-cooled versions of the single output CFE400M are available from TDK-Lambda. The digitally-controlled AC/DC supplies combine a 4kV AC reinforced input to output isolation with dual fusing and an output to ground isolation of 1500V AC. The supplies meet IEC, EN, UL, CSA 60601-1 Ed 2 and 3 safety approvals for medical equipment making them suitable for so-called body floating medical applications. The supply was developed in response to customer demand for compact convection cooled power supplies that deliver their rated power without compromising reliability, says the company. Digital power conversion is claimed to dissipate 50% less power than conventional supplies for use in ErP or Climate Savers Eco-Design projects. The convection cooled version is rated at 300W and operates up to 40°C or 250W at 50°C. When fan-cooled, either by an integral quiet fan or customer air, the supply is rated at 400W up to 50°C. The peak power of 450W is for up to 10s for both versions. Field-adjustable 12, 24 and 48V DC versions are available with a 12V DC, 0.25A fan supply. Efficiency is 94% and there is remote on and off and remote sense features. The supply measures 178x100x40mm, small enough for medical equipment as well as ATE, automation and broadcast use. Standby output is 5V, 100mA or 5V, 2A.
