Vishay Intertechnology has launched the IHLP low-profile, high-current inductor in the 3232 case size. The inductor measures 8.26x8.79mm and has a 3mm profile.
With a frequency range up to 1MHz, the inductor serves as a space- and power-saving solution for voltage regulator module and DC/DC converter applications in end products including next-generation mobile devices; notebooks, desktop computers, servers, graphic cards, portable gaming systems, personal navigation systems, personal multimedia devices, and automotive systems; PoL converters; distributed power systems; and FPGAs.
The inductor offers an inductance range from 0.22 to 33µH, a saturation current range from 2.5 up to 24A, a heat rating current range from 2.6 to 36A, and maximum DC resistance from 1.62 to 205mΩ.
The inductor handles high transient current spikes without hard saturation, says the company. It is available in an RoHS-compliant, 100% lead-free shielded, composite construction that reduces buzz noise to low levels, claims the company. The inductor operates from 55 to 125°C, with high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration.
