Congatec has announced the conga-QAF Qseven module based on the AMD Embedded G-Series. The COM (computer on module) combines the dual core processing power, graphics performance, and low power consumption in a small form factor. It is designed for low-power control and visualisation applications. The COM is available in two processor variants: AMD G-Series G-T40E 1GHz dual core and AMD G-Series G-T40R 1GHz single core with up to 4Gbyte of low power onboard DDR3 memory. There is an integrated graphics core with the Universal Video Decoder 3.0 for processing of Blu-ray content via high-bandwidth digital content protection. Other features included in the COM are 1080p MPEG-2, HD and DivX MPEG-4 video supports DirectX11 and OpenGL 4.0 for fast 2D and 3D image display and OpenGL 1.1. LVDS. DisplayPort and HDMI graphics interfaces are also provided. The AMD G-Series graphics unit can also be used for compute-intensive parallelisable operations. OpenCL support is offered for non-graphics related standard operations. The 70x70mm COM uses the AMD Hudson E1 Fusion controller hub in combination with the G-Series processor.
