Enecsys says its solar PV micro inverters out-perform string inverters in terms of service life, reliability and energy harvest. Compared to solar PV installations that use string inverters, micro inverters deliver five to 20% greater energy harvest over the system lifetime by applying MPPT (maximum power point tracking) to each solar module. There is no dramatic reduction in system output when a solar module, or part of a module, has its output reduced by shading. Each solar module and its connected micro inverter act as an independent AC generator that is connected in parallel, not serially. The patented design replaces electrolytic capacitors, the most life-limiting component, with long-life film capacitors. The inverters operate from -40 to +85°C, at up to 96% efficiency, and have a 20year warranty.
