Rakon has launched two 7x5mm surface mount RXO7050P XO (crystal clock oscillator) and RVX7050P VCXO (voltage controlled XO) products. They are suitable for applications using more than 150MHz oscillators to achieve less than 1ps total system RMS phase jitter, without requiring SAW (surface acoustic wave) oscillators, according to the company.
The oscillators are available over a frequency range from 8 to 1500MHz with LVDS, PECL (pseudo emitter coupled logic) or CMOS up to 200MHz outputs operating at 2.5 or 3.3V. Sample turnaround is less than two weeks for 2000+ frequencies such as 10, 30.72, 100, 156.25, 312.5, 400, 983.04, and 1200MHz, claims the company. The good close-in phase noise and low noise floor combine to deliver 0.5ps RMS phase jitter with integrated 12kHz to 20MHz.
The oscillators are suitable for many high speed serial data communications, networking and telecomms applications.
