Cree has launched its 1200V SiC Schottky diode product offering includes four surface mount devices in 2, 5, 8, and 10A current ratings and packaged in the surface mount TO-252 D-Pak. According to the company, the surface mount diodes deliver the same performance as the company's TO-220 diodes, but with a small PCB footprint and low profile. The diodes enhance energy efficiency in solar micro inverter designs. The company's C4D02120E series Schottky diodes are rated for 2A; the C4D05120E series diodes are rated for 5A; the C4D08120E series diodes are rated for 8A; and the C4D10120E series diodes are rated for 10A. Operating junction temperature for all diodes are rated for -55 to +175°C.
