Gresham Power Electronics has increased the output power of the 6U compactPCI power supply to 650W. The cPCI-6U-650 power supply is compliant with the PICMG 2.11 power interface specification, incorporates the standard positronic 47pin connector and offers hot-swap, N+1 redundant connection and active load current share. It features a 90 to 264V AC input voltage with active power factor correction, or a DC input of 36 to 72V DC. Standard output voltages are 5V at 80A, 3.3V at 70A, 12V at 7 and 1.5A. Full use of component and circuit technologies, including synchronous rectification, low profile transformers and SMT components ensure power density, says the company. The design uses two output converters in parallel, one for the 3.3V and the other for the 5V. The power supply features status and control functions including remote inhibit, output fail alarm, over-temperature warning, output remote sense, single wire current share and front panel LEDs indicate outputs OK and any fault condition. It is RoHS-compliant, has full international safety agency approvals including UL/cUL60950, CE Mark of LVD and EN55022 Level A. It operates from -5 to +55°C with de-rating at 2.5%/°C up to 70°C, cooling requirements are 400LFM of airflow and MTBF is calculated as greater than 400,000h to Belcore 332 issue 6.
