Texas Instruments has introduced four Simple Switcher power management ICs for space-constrained PoL designs. The National Semiconductor 1A LMZ10501 and 650mA LMZ10500 nano modules with on-chip inductor and 2A LMR24220 and 1A LMR24210 nano regulators measure 7.5mm2. The nano modules support an input voltage of 2.7 to 5.5V. The nano modules also meet the CISPR 25, Class 5 radiated noise emissions standard for automotive applications. The Laguna GW2380 network is a miniature, embedded router board which features the company's 1A nano module along with the 3A LMZ14203 power module. The 3A LMZ14203 power modules comply with the CISPR 22 Class B radiated and conducted EMI standard for communications applications. For portable applications, the company also offers the 600mA TPS82671 regulator in a 6.7mm2 MicroSiP package. The 3A LMZ14203 power modules feature a fixed 2MHz frequency PWM mode and output ripple of less than 10mV peak to peak. The nano modules are available in an 8pin leadless surface mount package measuring 2.5x3x1.2mm. The nano regulators operate over a 4.5 to 42V input voltage and deliver an output voltage up to 24V. The nano regulators are available in a 28pin micro SMD package measuring 2.45x3.64x0.6mm. The regulators' constant on time with emulated ripple mode architecture requires no loop compensation, says the company.
