Vishay Intertechnology has expanded its DG92xx family of CMOS analogue switching and multiplexer products with the introduction of a dual SPDT DG9236 analogue switch, an eight-channel DG9251 multiplexer, a dual four-channel DG9252 multiplexer, and a triple two-channel DG9253 multiplexer. The switch and multiplexers are designed for 2.7 to 16V single-supply or ±2.7 to ±8V dual-supply operation. They are optimised for touch panels, tablets, data acquisition, healthcare, instrumentation, and automation equipment.
The three multiplexers are specified at 16, 5, and ±5V. Compatible with CMOS and GPIO control signals, the switch and multiplexers' control inputs are 1.4V logic high when operating from 5 or ±5V supplies, and 1.65V logic high when operating from a 16V supply. For CMOS and TTL microprocessor control signals, the analogue switch has 1.8V logic high when operating from a 16V power supply.
The three multiplexers are available in a 1.8x2.6mm mini-QFN-16 package while the analogue switch is available in a 1.4x1.8mm miniQFN-10 package with a low 0.55mm profile. At -3dB, the multiplexers offer a bandwidth of 314MHz for DG9251, 449MHz for DG9252, and 480MHz for DG9253 and provide good isolation performance of -45dB and crosstalk of -48dB at 100MHz. The analogue switch features a bandwidth of 800MHz, -70dB crosstalk and -62dB off-isolation at 10MHz. The switch and multiplexers operate from -40 to +85°C.
Fabricated using the company's proprietary CMOS process, the switch and multiplexers feature low parasitic capacitance, charge injection, leakage current, and power consumption. Designed to handle a wide range of analogue and high-speed pulses, the switch and multiplexers are claimed to conduct equally in both directions, offer rail-to-rail analogue signal handling, and can be used as both multiplexers and de-multiplexers.
The analogue switch and multiplexers are compliant to RoHS directive 2002/95/EC and halogen-free in accordance to the IEC 61249-2-21 definition. The miniQFN family of packages features nickel-palladium-gold device terminations that meet all JEDEC standards for reflow and moisture security level rating.
