Zuken has announced the CR-8000, a PCB design product family that is designed for concept-to-manufacturing, system-level multi-board design. The suite's integrated design flow ranges from initial system planning, where critical design decisions are made about design partitioning, component selection, and form, fit, and function of the product or system; through detailed schematic and PCB design; and optimised manufacturing output.
The system planner, design gateway, design force, and DFM (design for manufacturability) centre in this flow inherently support and facilitate multi-board design for system level design optimisation. The system planner is a system-level design environment for up-front planning and partitioning of electronics systems. The design gateway is an engineering platform for logical circuit design and verification of single and multi-board system-level electronic designs. The design force is a system-level IC package and PCB design and analysis solution combining conventional 2D design with 3D design in real-time using the latest human interface techniques. The DFM centre is a manufacturing preparation and output solution supporting panelisation and common output formats.
The PCB design suite includes human interface techniques such as a mouse and a touch pad combine for few mouse clicks and movements, minimal dialogues and panels. The suite also includes a hardware - using 64bit, multi-thread and multi-CPU and graphics - through OpenGL and DirectX. The suite supports network environments - with standalone client, data server, application server and cloud computing support.
