The Matrix-522 from DSL is a Linux-ready ARM9-powered, embedded industrial computer. With a small form-factor, low power consumption and dual CAN bus 2.0 ports, the computer is suitable for automotive, factory automation and industrial control system applications.
The computer features a 400MHz ARM9 CPU along with 64Mbyte SDRAM, 128Mbyte NAND flash and 2Mbyte data flash built-in. Other I/O interfaces include two LANs, two RS-232, 422, and 485 serial ports, two USB hosts and 21 GPIOs.
The computer's two isolated CAN bus 2.0 compliant ports support CANSocket and CANOpen application programming interfaces. The pre-installed Linux 2.6.29 OS includes SocketCAN, the open source CAN driver and network stack to allow multiple applications to access one CAN device simultaneously, says the company.
Fail-proof capabilities for system backup and recovery can recover the file system, or duplicate it to other computer systems, claims the company.
