Available in bare die and an SSOP20 package, for PowerTrain applications, the AS8222 FlexRay transceiver is claimed to be the first designed to operate in the harsh, high temperature environments of PowerTrain. The in-package maximum ambient temperature is 150°C and the bare die version has a maximum temperature of 165°C. The transceiver supplies the interface between digital logic and copper cable transmission lines in vehicles for the network communications protocol that is faster than CAN, at 10Mbit/s transmission rates. The protocol is also reliable as it is time-triggered. This transceiver has a battery supply connection and FlexRay bus wake-up functionality, and conforms to FlexRay v2.1 rev B. It also provides various bus and failure diagnostics, for high-speed automotive bus systems and safety-critical applications.
