SATA interface NANDrive SSDs (solid state drives), the GLS85LS SSDs by Greenliant Systems, have the same pin-out across 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32Gbyte capacities. They measure 14x24x1.95mm and are available in a 145 BGA, 1mm ball pitch package which can be soldered directly to the motherboard; no extra connectors are needed. This is claimed to add stability. Compatible with the latest chipsets, the SSDs combine a proprietary NAND flash controller with up to eight NAND flash die in a multi-chip package. The SSDs feature active-mode power consumption of 335mW, idle mode at 210mW and standby mode of 190mW. A deep power-down mode reduces this to 10mW. Security features include a device ID, password protection and four independent zones. The company's NAND management technology is based on static and dynamic wear-leveling algorithms that balance the wear across erase blocks in the memory subsystem.
