Syfer has announced extensions to its solder-in panel mount EMI filters. The discoidal capacitor versions have capacitance values up to several µfarads. The SFSS (scalable file server solution) filters are constructed with a discoidal capacitor soldered to a feedthrough pin. The EMI filters are offered with a choice of C0G/NP0 or X7R ceramic dielectrics and are available in five different diameters of 2.3, 2.8, 3, 5 and 8.75mm. The RoHS-compliant capacitors have capacitance values ranging from 10pF to 2.2µF. The voltages range from 50V to 3kV and the temperature range is -55 to +125oC. The company says that these filters can withstand a solder-in temperature of 250oC. A metal body and epoxy encapsulation offer good filtering performance and the working voltages range from 50 to 500V DC, claims the company.
