C&K Components has developed two rolling ball tilt switches featuring a funnel-shape design for accurate 360° detection. The RB-4G0124 and RB-231 switches are designed for safety control. The RB-4G0124 is equipped with infra red LED and phototransistor to precisely detect the control signal. The switch is claimed to provide an electrical life of 1,000,000 cycles and a mechanical life of 20,000,000 cycles. The RB-231 features a compact, shielded design that provides an angle of detection at 10°. The conductive ball is movable inside the tube to generate the signal and contact. The switch is claimed to provide an operating life of 100,000 cycles. The switches are suitable for movement detection, safety device, white good and consumer electronic applications, including irons, portable heaters, games, toys and handheld devices.
