The SGDR2500P2 from SemiSouth Laboratories is a dual-output, two-stage, opto-isolated gate driver board intended for use with power electronics modules that incorporate the company's vertical-trench junction field-effect transistors as the primary switches. The board provides electrically isolated high-side and low-side outputs with peak current levels of +20 to -10A, enabling fast switching speeds and yielding low switching energy losses, says the company. The board is optimised for the high-speed, hard switching of power modules such as Microsemi's 1200V, 100A half-bridge APTJC120AM13VCT1AG. The board self-generates isolated ±15V supply voltages and has maximum switching frequency of 100kHz. Applications include hard-switched bridge topologies, inverters, and converters, as well as product evaluation.
