Allied Motion Technologies has introduced the DynaMax 25 series of coreless DC motors. The 25mm diameter motors employ a high power density copper foil rotor technology, which combined with four-pole rare-earth NdFeB magnets is claimed to maximise the motor performance. A starting torque of 400mNm is said to help the motor achieve good torque and power production. The low inertia and high starting torque results in a rotor acceleration response of 4ms. The motor is suitable for rapid start-stop applications such as hand tools and actuators, positioning systems in high precision, high throughput equipment such as semiconductor test and packaging equipment and electronics assembly equipment. For low-speed, high-torque applications, the motor is available fitted with a planetary gearbox. For regulated speed or positioning systems, a two-channel, 2000ppr optical encoder is optionally available.
