APEM Components has introduced the P65 series of rotary switches, a high temperature version of the company's PT65 dual in-line package coded rotary switch. The switches are designed for high temperature soldering and are suitable for modern assembly processes. The switches can be used in the automotive, communication, consumer electronics, and defence markets, as well as electrical appliances, industrial automation, and medical applications.
The switches are available in both SMT and through-hole technology. The contact paths have abrasion-resistant gold plating. With a mechanical lifetime of 30,000 steps, the switches are available in 4, 6, 10, and 16 positions. They are 6.5mm in height, 10mm in width and 10mm in length.
The switches' permissible reflow soldering temperature of 260°C for 10s, wave of 280°C for 5s, and 340°C for 2s. Standard actuators include arrow-shaped and cross-shaped slots. Additional actuators including spindle, segment wheel, rotary axle, knob, and wheel are also available.
