The MESA 7I69 is a remote 48 point TTL (transistor-transistor logic) I/O card for real time, PC-based control systems in high performance industrial automation and machine tool applications. The card communicates with the host using a RS422 link with up to 100ft link length using standard Cat 5 cables for wiring. The card is supported by the company's FPGA cards, which present a parallel register interface to the host, with all protocol details handled by the smart interface. One FPGA card can support up to 32 external devices and up to 3072 control points, maintaining 10kHz service rate for all points. The card provides 48 open collector TTL-compatible I/O points. The I/O connectors are two 50pin headers with I/O module rack pinouts, allowing the card to drive two 24 point I/O module racks, says the company.
