Enpirion has introduced a DC/DC converter into its power IC portfolio, the EN5339 3A power SoC for high-density embedded COM (computer-on-module) and solid-state drives. The converter features a controller, power MOSFETs, compensation network and inductor that are integrated into a 55mm2 solution area with a 1.1mm profile, which enables development of form factors such as COM Express, PC104, Qseven, advanced telecommunications computing architecture mezzanine cards, and PCI. According to the company, the converter has four PoL voltage rails, requires only three to six external components, and its low ripple of 6mV eliminates the need of an external noise filter and heatsinks. The converter does not require load de-rating at an ambient temperature of 85°C, says the company.
