Rafi has introduced illuminated rings, which match the round, opaque plungers and signal the operation of Micon 5 micro key switches with 3, 4.5, 5.5, or 8N.
Two RGB LEDs provide the homogenous illumination. The units are available with a height of 9.7mm and diameters of 20.7, 23.7 and 28.2mm. They are suitable for the plungers as they have a diameter of 11.5, 14.5 or 19mm and the key switches have 5.1x6.4mm footprint and are 3.85mm high. The gold contacts provide high switching capacity, outstanding tactility and a distinctly audible key click to ensure high operating comfort, says the company. The key switches themselves are claimed to endure between 250,000 and one million switching cycles and they are available with SMT and through-hole technology connections.
