Weald Electronics has announced filtered connectors for applications demanding EMI suppression. The LMHF (la marche manufacturing high frequency) filter connectors are a version of the company's MiL-C-26482 series 1 compliant, LMH, bayonet coupling, circular connectors. The miniature connectors are available in a choice of three shell styles and nine shell sizes with contact configurations available from six to 55. The connectors are offered in both fixed square flange and single hole mounting shell styles. The shells are made of aluminium alloy with a standard finish of olive chromate conversion over cadmium plate. The connectors feature gold plated, non-removable solder or PCB type contacts and high precision machined and photo-etched components that provide good thermal and mechanical stress relief, says the company. The polychloroprene inserts help the connectors operate between -55 and +125ºC. The connectors incorporate multilayer, ceramic planar capacitor arrays to form the capacitive filtering elements. This enables many filter values and configurations to be achieved within a single filtered connector and, as a result, C, LC and Pi section filtering can all be accommodated within a single shell, claims the company.
