Fox Electronics has launched its XpressO oscillators with a tight frequency stability to ±25ppm over the operating temperature range of -20 to +70°C in a miniature 3.2x2.5mm package. The HCMOS 3.3 V FXO-HC336 is a part of the series and is a high performance oscillator.
The oscillator is used in microprocessors, DSP, FPGA, synchronous optical networking and Ethernet environments. It is also used in industrial controllers, test and measurement equipment, storage area networks and other applications that require the oscillator to maintain its frequency over a wide temperature range. It is available in frequency from 0.75 to 250MHz and offers a frequency resolution to six decimal places.
The oscillators utilise the ASICs (application specific integrated circuits) developed for noise reduction by using the third-order delta sigma modulator. These ASICs enable users to select the optimum combination of output type, input voltages and temperature performance features.
The oscillators feature a tri-state enable or disable feature that allows to turn off the output to reduce power consumption. The contacts of the oscillator are constructed with gold over nickel termination finish including footprint and pin-out, claims the company.
