Vishay Intertechnology has launched dual asymmetric power MOSFETs for low-voltage DC/DC converter applications. They offer 3x3, 6x3.7, and 6x5mm PowerPAIR form factors.
The 30V SiZ300DT targets DC/DC applications handling currents of 10A and below, while the SiZ910DT is suitable for applications above 20A. The PowerPAIR 3x3 has approximately one third the area of the PowerPAIR 6x5.
The SiZ728DT is claimed to be the first 25V and SiZ730DT is debuting as the low RDS(on) 30V, both with the 6x3.7 PowerPAIR.
According to the company, the asymmetric configuration of the power MOSFETs improves performance by allowing the size of the low-side MOSFET to be increased for low conduction losses. The two co-packaged MOSFETs simplify PCB layouts, reduce parasitic inductance, and reduce switching losses.
