An addition to BVM Mobile's family of PanelPCs is the UPC-V312-D525, a 12.1in touchscreen fanless unit, which runs the Windows Embedded Compact, Windows XP Embedded, Windows 7 Embedded or Linux. It is based on the Intel ICH8M chipset, with an Intel Atom D525 dual core, 1.8GHz processor and up to 1Gbyte of RAM. It is fitted with dual redundant DC power supplies for installation in cranes, forklift trucks, and heavy goods vehicles to monitor and record multiple vehicle parameters. The unit is housed in a robust IP65 sealed, aluminium enclosure that gives immunity to shock and vibration in mobile environments. The unit features a built-in CAN bus interface, Gigabit Ethernet, four 2.0 USB ports and RS232, RS422, and RS485 serial ports. The unit also includes a GPS, 2.4 and 5GHz 802.11 a, b, g, and n dual-band WiFi, 3.75G high-speed uplink packet access mobile communications, Bluetooth V2.1 with enhanced data rate for short-range peripheral connections, pluggable modules such as SSDs mass storage, and a four-channel, real-time video card. For mobile applications, the primary power source is the vehicle battery with an onboard DC/DC converter. When mains power is available, an autoranging external AC/DC supply is provided.
