CUI has included the V78W-500, a wide input 500mA high-performance non-isolated converter, to its V78 switching regulator series. According to the company, the converter does not require a heatsink, making it suitable for space- and energy efficient applications. The non-isolated converter is available in a single in-line package which measures 11.5x9x17.5mm. The converter is pin-out-compatible with LM78XX linear regulators and comes in both straight and right angle pin configurations. The converter features an input voltage range of nine to 72V, regulated output voltages of 3.3, five, 6.5, nine, 12, 15 and 24V DC, and operates between -40 and +85°C. The converter also features short circuit protection, over-temperature protection, and an MTBF of 2million hours.
