ELMA Electronic has introduced a CompactPCI system serially equipped with a fan controller and optional system monitor.
The system monitor can process protocols such as transmission control protocol, IP, HTTP, trivial file transfer protocol, simple network management protocol version 2, dynamic host configuration protocol and telnet that enables to control the system via remote access. Voltage, temperature and fan speed values can be retrieved from the system or special events can be set.
It is claimed that, with the fan controller, system settings that so far had to be taken statically can be preset. It defines the temperature regulation and time of ventilation autostart function via serial interface. Values to be controlled are accessible via I2C or serial interface and it is possible to activate digital temperature sensors at the fan controller or to connect an LCD display and visualize current temperature and fan speed of the system, says the company.
