The SGM PilotBox from INSYS-icom is a compact charging control unit that can be used in simple wall boxes but also in intelligent charging station or car park systems. The space-saving design has detachable screw terminals and DIN rail mounting for quick and easy installation. The maximum permissible charging current can be defined by using two contacts (external wired link). The charging process and all safety functions comply with the latest version of the charging standard according to IEC 61851 (Mode 3) and VDE-AR-E 2623-2-2. These standards include generating and monitoring a pilot signal to determine the maximum charging current, detecting the resistance coding in the charging cable, and controlling and monitoring the connector locking and ventilation.
